Our monthly moon-time can actually be a time of rest, relaxation, rejuvenation, deep internal wisdom and pleasure (yes i said PLEASURE!) It is up to us to spend our energy avoiding and resenting it or to honor and celebrate it. The way we approach anything in life, is how we will be received and mirrored back to.

Here are a few tips and treats for you to nibble on at your leisure :)
Exercise - get the blood and lymph moving and break a sweat! Don’t just lay in bed with your feet up taking pain pills and feeling sorry for yourself. Get your comfy pants on and get your body moving, dancing, expressing, undulating… I’m not suggesting you run a marathon, however exercise will keep everything circulating and help alleviate cramping.
Fresh Air - Take deep and long breaths in the the fresh outside air, the more nature time the better! Go for a walk, bike ride, hang at a park and have a sweet picnic, what ever inspires you to get outside, go do that!
Belly Breathing - cramping is a form of stagnant energy, physically, mentally, spiritually, emotionally.. by breathing deeply into the belly you can begin to invite this energy to move. This will bring up emotions if done correctly. Lay on your back with your knees facing the sky or out to the sides. Bring your hands onto your belly. With your inhale breath, extend and fill your belly as much as possible (yes buddha belly is good!), on the exhale, let it all go, descending your belly back to the earth beneath you. Play with going fast and going slow. Most important is to keep the belly breathing in and out. Allow emotions and sensations to arise. Feel it all and continue to breath.
Swim or Bathe - release yourself and your womb from gravity. Go for a swim (ocean is best if you have the access, as it will also balance negative ions), if not a hot epsom salt bath with your favorite oils, candles and tunes will do the trick.
Eat Light - This can feel somewhat counterintuitive, however will make a huge difference in how you feel. If you can avoid chocolate, caffeine and heavy foods (high fats and carbs) it will actually be a huge help in alleviating bloating, water retention, gas and excess bleeding. The more clean our internal landscape, the more graceful is our moon-time shed.
Gratitude - I invite you to spend 5 minutes writing a list of ‘gratitude’ for your achy and amazing miracle of a uterus. Grab a pen and paper, set a timer and keep writing.. thank you, thank you, thank you.. infusing gratitude into our life is one of the best things we can do, especially to alchemize everything back into Love.
Blood Offering - To offer your blood back to Gaia is such a divine gift for both, you, her and the collective. Earth/Womb Breathing - Go outside, find a sweet grassy or sandy spot and lay your womb on the earth and breath. I often imagine Gaias womb breathing me as I’m breathing in and out of Her. If there is any stuck emotions or physical sensations, you can offer them back to her on every exhale. On the inhale, breath in Her essence, her power, her beauty, her wisdom.
Get a Hit of Dopamine - Dopamine is the “feel good” hormone and can help the body relax while experiencing states of ecstasy and bliss. This can be done through making love, cuddling, stimulation, pleasurable play..
